I recently fell in love with the Piedmont again. A legacy region I was priced out of for much of my career, I never really had the chance to become obsessively enamored in the way I did with Champagne and Burgundy. ‘Tis the season for depth and excess, however, and I’m happy to say I’m tripping all over myself for nebbiolo again.
We’ve been trying something new out at Dear Annie, and it’s cute. In an effort to make the idea of a wine dinner feel a little more approachable and accessible (read: a little more us and you), we’re offering little 3-course tasting menus with wine pairings on a regional theme; last month was Beaujolais, and this month? The Piedmont.
Join us Sunday at Dear Annie for a little foray into the indulgences of the Piedmont—from brooding Barolo, to the iconic robiola incavolata and castelmagno cheeses, to the essential truffle (the real stuff—none of that oil nonsense). The menu is $65 per person, the wine pairing is $35 and optional but highly recommended for the chinato (an elusive and absolutely astonishing aromatized wine) alone! I hope you’ll lean into the season and fall in love along with me.

Thursday, December 11th from 6-8PM, we’re closing out the year the only way we know how: with an over-the-top tasting party. Abbondanza is our annual celebration of excess in all the most delicious ways—beautiful wines, heaps of cheese, and a room full of people living their best festive fantasy.
You are highly encouraged to dress up—velvet, sequins, vintage suits, that wild accessory you never get to wear! Bring the drama, the glamour, or whatever version of abundance feels good to you.
