Hello, friends!
Thanks to so many of you who joined us last week for Katerina’s pop up AND for A Seat At The Table—both events were the kind of lively, convivial, narrative-driven evenings we crave to host more often.
On theme, then, is a very special upcoming event with none other than Danielle Glantz, pastaficionado (I made that up) and proprietor of one of my personal favorite culinary havens, Pastaio Via Corta—the closest you’ll get to stumbling into a pastificio this side of the Atlantic. (I’m not saying Pastaio proximity was the reason we moved to the North Shore this summer, but it certainly doesn’t hurt.)
If you’ve yet to experience the culinary glory that is Danielle’s handmade (organic! locally-sourced! stone-milled! heritage + ancient grain! bronze extruded!) pasta, please remedy that immediately. If you’ve yet to listen to Danielle’s passionate thoughts on all things Italian food and wine, you’ll have the chance to remedy that on Thursday, November 6th, when we host Danielle at Wild Child to celebrate the release of the Pastaio Via Corta Cookbook.
Danielle’s first book is written in collaboration with THE Katie Parla and reflects the meeting of Italian culinary heritage, contemporary storytelling and intentional design based on book printing history. Containing 17 ingredient and technique-driven pasta recipes, the book brings Danielle’s intensive culinary pedigree to the fore while honoring relationships with the people who make and grow your food. An alum of Chez Panisse, Danielle is also a fellow natural wine devotee, and her personal ties to many of the Italian producers we work promise to bring plenty of anecdotal charm to the evening’s conversation!
If you’re already a Pastaio die-hard or just a lover of culinary delight, we hope you’ll join us for this intimate evening celebrating our shared joy for food, wine, and the people we meet along the way.
