PACINA @ Wild Child (!!!!)
+ last call for holiday delivery!
Hi, friends.
A quick one as we all navigate the mania of holiday prep. (Just to give you a little peek into my own family’s meal-planning dysfunction, both of my parents have made surreptitious pie purchases in an effort to undermine the other’s choices in both filling and choice of bakery, resulting in a total pie count of no fewer than seven pies for the total of five adults invited to dinner. Pray for me.)
Pie Wars aside, I absolutely had to set aside a few minutes to let you know about an absolutely incredible opportunity to meet one of natural wine’s most influential producers, this Saturday at Wild Child.
If you know, you know: Pācina is one of those estates that quietly ruins you (in the best way) for other wine. Tucked into the hills of Chianti Colli Senesi, Giovanna Tiezzi and Stefano Borsa have been practicing organic, biodiversity-driven agriculture since before it was cool—fermenting spontaneously, aging patiently, and producing wines that are raw, honest, and deeply tied to place. They’re so influential in natural wine, there’s a 2014 documentary called “Natural Resistance” chronicling their profound commitment to land stewardship (skip to around the 6:20 mark to meet Giovanna in the film and get a glimpse of their breathtaking estate).
Tasting through the full lineup of such an esteemed estate’s production with the people who make them is a genuine rarity, especially because Giovanna and Stefano don’t visit Boston often. So I hope you’ll join us from 5-7 on Saturday 11/29 at Wild Child! The tasting is free, so come any time and leave any time.
